Announces the 2023/2024 Executive Committee Nominees
Pursuant to Chapter Bylaws, Section IV, the following members have been nominated to the Executive Committee for the 2023/2024 Chapter Year, July 1-June 30.
President: Chris McGlynn, CSP
Chris McGlynn serves as the Director of Safety at Roco Rescue. In addition to his responsibilities at Roco, McGlynn serves as a Special Government Employee (SGE) for the US Department of Labor OSHA. McGlynn holds a Bachelor of Science, Occupational Safety and Health and is pursing a Master of Science in Occupational Safety and Health/Environmental Manager from Columbia Southern University. MyGlynn holds multiple certifications including the Certified Safety Professional (CSP) through the Board of Certified Safety Professionals. Additional ASSP activities include service on ASSP’s Advisory Group and Standard Development Committee for ANSI/ASSP Z390 – Hydrogen Sulfide Training Standard and as the Alternate Representative for the Standard Development Committee for ANSI/ASSP Z117 – Confined Space Standard.
Vice-President: Emma Bataineh, CSP
Emma Bataineh serves as a Safety Specialist for Georgia Pacific. Bataineh holds a Bachelor of Science in Occupational Safety, Health, and Environment from Southeastern Louisiana University. Bataineh is a Certified Safety Professional (CSP) through the Board of Certified Safety Professionals. Bataineh has served as the GBR Chapter Community Outreach Committee Chair for several years, leading Chapter activities to promote practical, hands-on safety learning to local high school students enrolled in craft training through the JumpStart Program.
Treasurer: Brandon Dove, CSP
Brandon Dove serves as a Health and Safety Engineer at Methanex Corporation. Dove served in the Army National Guard, reaching the rank of Sergeant as an Air Traffic Controller, deploying for one year overseas in Baghdad in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. Dove holds a Bachelor of Science in Occupational Safety, Health, and Environment from Southeastern Louisiana University. Dove is a Certified Safety Professional through the Board of Certified Safety Professionals. Dove is also enrolled in the 2023 cohort of Leadership Ascension, a community leadership program offered by the Ascension Chamber of Commerce.
Secretary: Tyler Traweek, ASP
Tyler Traweek serves as the HSE Manager for Conco Services, LLC. Traweek holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Kinesiology Health Promotion and Wellness from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, a Master of Science in Occupational Safety and Health and a Master of Business of Administration from Columbia Southern University. Traweek holds an Associate Safety Professional (ASP) Certificate through the Board of Certified Safety Professionals.
Advisory Group Member: Thomas Cagle, CSP, CSHM
Thomas Cagle serves as the Vice President of HSSE and Training at Associated Terminals/Turn Services. Cagle holds a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from Louisiana State University. Cagle is a Certified Safety and Health Manager (CSHM) through the Institute of Hazardous Material Management and is a Certified Safety Professional through the Board of Certified Safety Professionals. Additionally, Cagle serves as a speaker for RiverWorks Discovery, educating children and their families about commerce, culture, conservation, and river safety.
Past-President: Wilbert Rosette, II, CSP
Wilbert Rosette most recently served as the Safety Manager at National Water Infrastructure. Rosette holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Management from Southern University and A&M College. Rosette is a Certified Safety Professional through the Board of Certified Safety Professionals. Rosette served as Chapter President for the 2022/2023 Chapter Year.
Member-at-Large: Thai Tran, CSP
Thai Tran services as a Safety Manager for Worley at Dow LAO. Tran holds a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Technology and a Bachelor of Science in Occupational Safety, Health, and Environment from Southeastern Louisiana University. Tran is a Certified Safety Professional through the Board of Certified Safety Professionals. Tran served as Chapter President for the 2021/2022 Chapter Year.
Elections will take place July 17, 2023, through July 25, 2023, via electronic ballot.
