Rate : $32 per hour – No per diem
Position:
Environmental Technician
Reports to:
Environmental Manager
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Coordinate transportation of waste containers and shipments of waste.
 - Attend project kickoff meetings to communicate waste management requirements.
 - Complete waste manifests and manage shipping records.
 - Inspect waste storage areas and chemical warehouses.
 - Audit production unit waste storage logs.
 - Assist with waste characterization sampling including coordination with operations and laboratories.
 - Assist with any spill cleanup activities.
 - Performs other duties as assigned.
 
Qualifications and Experience:
Required:
- High School Diploma or GED
 - Minimum of 4 years’ experience of manufacturing or related military experience.
 - Strong written and interpersonal communication skills.
 - Proficient with Microsoft Excel
 
Preferred:
- Forklift operator qualified or able to receive qualification.
 
Physical Requirements:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
- Regularly required to push, pull, bend and perform long periods of standing and walking on cement foundations.
 - Occasionally required to stoop and kneel.
 - Must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
 - Must be able to coordinate the movement of eyes, hands, feet, and fingers to operate tools and equipment.
 - Required to be medically certified for respirator and medically fit for duty.
 - Use of PPE required in specific areas.
