Description:
The Leadership GOLD Series is a 4-part virtual leadership development experience designed for safety professionals and operational leaders who want to increase their influence, effectiveness, and impact in creating safer workplaces. Using the acronym G.O.L.D.—Growth, Ownership, Legacy, and Discipline—this series equips participants with practical strategies and leadership insights that directly apply to their day-to-day roles in safety and operations.

 

Each session is led by a different expert speaker, bringing pointed, relevant topics to life—from contractor safety and safety management systems to personal development and behavioral leadership. This session will highlight:

  • Why sustainable leadership is the key to sustainable safety

Week 3 Speaker:

 

Paul Leonard, proud Irishman and American by choice, Paul has an extensive and global experience in the Chemicals, Energy and Utilities industries. After graduating as a Chemical Engineer in Dublin, he received his Master’s in Thermodynamics in Germany and joined Dow Chemical where he worked in operations, projects and safety roles for 27 years in Germany, France, US and China. In 2012 he joined Arkema in Paris as VP for HSE where he led sustainable improvements in safety with a 70% reduction in injuries. He left Arkema in 2019 to join Orbia’s executive committee as VP for HSE in Mexico City and led the organization through a major restructure and COVID pandemic. In 2021 he joined Entergy in Texas as VP for Enterprise Safety where he led a major reorganization and upgraded the focus on the safety professional capabilities. Since 2025 Paul works as an independent consultant through his company SinoCelt LLC.
