Clay Rives serves as the Director of the Mayor’s Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness (MOHSEP) in Baton Rouge, where he has led since 2017. With more than 30 years of experience in public safety, emergency management, and homeland security, he has held leadership roles with the NIMSAT Institute, the Governor’s Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness, and the Louisiana Department of Justice. A graduate of LSU with both a Bachelor’s in Criminal Justice and a Master’s in Public Administration, Clay has dedicated his career to strengthening preparedness, interagency coordination, and innovative approaches to public safety. In this session, he will share insights on the safety and security risks associated with drones in occupational settings and how agencies like MOHSEP coordinate to manage these threats. Participants will leave with practical steps to ensure compliance, maintain safe environments when drones are present, and evaluate the opportunities and challenges drones bring to safety, emergency response, and security operations.
